Die Teeplantage Gorreana liegt an der Nordküste der Insel São Miguel, der größten Insel der Azoren, mitten im Atlantik. Zusammen mit ihrer Nachbarplantage Porto Formoso ist sie die einzige Teeplantage Europas.

In den Azoren wächst Tee bereits seit dem 18. Jahrhundert wild, doch sein Anbau begann erst 1874. Die Plantage Gorreana, auf der dieser grüne Tee produziert wird, ist daher über 100 Jahre alt, erzeugt jedoch nur 40 Tonnen Tee pro Jahr – im Vergleich zu durchschnittlich 2500 Tonnen pro Plantage in Asien.

Very weak rea, not suitable, as advertised, as a breakfast tea for british tastes. Does not take milk well and is better with lemon. Taste acceptable if unmemorable. This product not worthy of the hype.

We're sorry to hear that this tea did not meet your expectations. Tea preferences can be very personal, especially when it comes to breakfast teas. The black tea produced in the Azores is quite different from traditional British breakfast blends such as Assam or English Breakfast. It is generally lighter, smoother and less tannic, which explains why it may not pair with milk in the way many British tea drinkers expect.

Many customers actually enjoy it plain or with a slice of lemon, as you mentioned, which allows its more delicate character to be appreciated.

That said, we fully understand that if you were expecting a strong, full-bodied breakfast tea, the experience may have been disappointing. Le thé de l'atlantide ?

Un thé au gout subtil, original et agréable qui vient d'un jardin d'Eden situé au milieu de l'Océan.
